This cache is a tribute to 1,000 finds by my son madnessofmalkav (obviously a family name) who deserves equal amounts of credit and blame for introducing me to geocaching, and like any good contagious disease, I have since passed it on to others. You all know what I mean. If geocaching were Mary Kay, he would be driving a pink cadillac by now.
We both started our geocaching careers early in 2012 and both soon made steady progress towards 1,000 finds. By the time we each had found about 700 or so it had evolved into an unspoken yet fierce competition to see who could reach the 1K mark first. Well, I may be exaggerating just a little bit there. Anyway, I actually took the lead in early December but then SOMEBODY decided to wake up, quickly blew right by me and accomplished the 1,000 milestone first. So congrats is in order I suppose. :)
Not that he is competitive or anything like that, but statistics don't lie (see Exhibit A below). And besides, nobody wants to be shown up by their old man. Again.
I'm man enough to admit it. I let him win. Congratulations to madnessofmalkav on #1,000!
