Geocache Description:

This is one of ten caches placed for the 2013 Cache Across Maryland.
In celebration of the 10th Annual CAM, we are honoring the first MGS Cache Across Maryland by taking cachers back to the original 2004 CAM locations!

Each location was picked specifically by the original CAM hiders to give cachers a taste of the state and show you its beauty. By combining all ten, you'll be able to see why Maryland is truly "America in Miniature". We hope you enjoy them!

This cache is placed near the original CAM 2004 Baltimore County location GCHWV1
hidden by OUTSID4EVR & l33t_hacksta.

Welcome to CAM Baltimore County - Prettyboy Reservoir!

You are seeking a traditional hide located within the beautiful Prettyboy Reservoir. This cache is only available dawn till dusk. Please no night caching! Please stay on the trail until you are a little over a 100 ft. away before bush whacking to the cache! If you are quiet while at the cache site you will be able to hear the water from the brooks. Before you leave, please make sure the cache is well hidden from view of muggles who may be in the area for fishing or snake hunting.

This area of Prettyboy is home to one of the 10 original 2004 CAM caches hidden by OUTSID4EVR & l33t_hacksta. The cache is still there and recently replaced but be forewarned as it is a 2.5 mile hike one way! It is well worth the hike out as it is one of the most secludued spots in the reservoir but be sure you take plenty of water & snacks with you. This cache however will take you to a very scenic spot featuring spectacular views and a couple babbling brooks that are not as far.

Prettyboy is located primarily in northwestern Baltimore County with a small portion extending into northeastern Carroll County. The 7,380-acre tract is owned by the City of Baltimore and is managed to protect the Reservoir. The area is open to archery hunting for all game species (except waterfowl) during the regulated hunting season established by the Maryland Wildlife and Heritage Service. Hunters are required to have a permit to access the area. Throughout the year, this area is open to hiking, bird watching, and nature photography.
