Geocache Description:

It's Christmas Eve.  Road and I were just wondering what we did for Thanksgiving.  Below is what we did for Thanksgiving.  Happy Holidays!

This cache is called “Alice’s Restaurant,” and it’s about Alice, and the Restaurant, but “Alice’s Restaurant” is not the name of the restaurant. That’s just the name of the cache, and that’s why I call the cache “Alice’s Restaurant.”

This is how you find “Alice’s Restaurant” (the cache, not the song).  Drive a red VW  Microbus, take shovels and rakes and implements of destruction and head toward the posted coordinates. I know that Officer Obie hides out in the area, and has hopes of catching long haired, hippie weirdo freaks, dumping garbage in the vicinity on Thanksgiving.  So, you need to sing a chorus of “Alice’s Restaurant” (the song, not the cache) to keep Officer Obie from thinking you are there to dump garbage.  Let’s face it, who dumps garbage while singing a chorus of “Alice’s Restaurant”?

A word of caution, though, I know officer Obie will be expecting you to sing it loudly, and with feeling. If not, he may tell you to never to be seen caching in the area again.  Or the second possibility you may not think of -- you could immediately be arrested and HANDCUFFED! I know it will be hard to sign the log with the handcuffs on, but officer Obie won’t care.  He just wants to use all his cop stuff, and will start taking pictures, probably twenty-seven 8-by-10 colored glossy photographs with circles and arrows with a paragraph on the back of each one to be used as evidence against you for your crimes against geocaching.  Then, he will wait patiently for the judge and his seeing-eye dog to figure it all out.

If only one person is singing “Alice’s Restaurant” in the woods, officer Obie will think you’re crazy and he won't do anything, but if two people are singing “Alice’s Restaurant” it may seem strange, and if three people are singing “Alice’s Restaurant” in the woods, it will be seen as a geocaching movement that will change the policies of state entities.  So, sing it loud, and with feeling. Without that, nothing will change.

"You can get anything you want at Alice's Restaurant. You can get anything you want at Alice's Restaurant. Walk right in it's around the back. Just a half a mile from the railroad track. You can get anything you want at Alice's Restaurant."

I once heard that 18 minutes and 20 seconds were missing from the Nixon tapes at the White House, and that’s the length of the song. What do you think? Was Nixon a fan? They did find an Arlo Guthrie album in a White House closet, opened.

This version of the song "Alice's Restaurant" was edited, rewritten, and down right plagiarized at some points by Road and the Sky and ForTheLoveOfSunrises. Make sure you click on the link and enjoy the song!
