Pats Park is a popular place to unwind for both locals and tourists.
There are undercover picnic tables, play equiptment, BBQ`s and an amenities block.
The beach has a netted off swimming area to keep nasty jellyfish and pesky sharks away.
The Park is also the home of the Islands war memorial.
On Anzac day each year a well attended dawn service is held on site.
If you look down the hill from the cashe there is a tree surrounded by a wire cage,
this tree is a descendant of a tree from a cutting taken from lone pine durring WW1.
Its about 6km from the ferry to the cashe. The passenger ferry does allow push bikes on board.
