Geocache Description:

Saint Mochua is the patron saint of Clashmore in West Waterford.

Mochua was a disciple of Saint Carthage of Lismore, and was one of Ireland's earliest Christians. He is also known by the name Saint Cronan (the name Clashmore's parish church).

Mochua and his followers were apparently killed by the Vikings in 631 AD.

His feast day is 10th February.

This holy well does not retain the same sense of reverance as nearby wells (all cache sites) such as St. Declan's Wells in Ardmore and Toor (Mother of Wells cache) and St. Coran's Well in Youghal, and the area is mainly visited by children at play. Nevertheless, please feel free to sup some of the spring water and do the rounds - walk slowly around the well three times as you pray, and your prayers may well be answered.

The cache is a micro, in the tree.
