On Christmas Day 2012, I had just signed the log of my introduction to geocaching in 2011, when I realise that there are a lot of potential hides along the St Blaize trail.
So I followed the satnav till I found a parking spot.
On starting my walk I was looking all the time for a potential hide.
At a T-junction I discovered a wooden bench and whilst was there admiring the view, I had a cold shiver that ran up my spine.
What I experienced I can only describe as uncanny. I wanted to continue with my trail but felt something/one turned me around in the opposite direction.
Twice I tried to head on out on my quest for a potential hide.
What I list below is the description of what I discovered when I googled one of the persons name.
I have no idea why I was drawn to this place where you will discover a pair of wooden crosses in memory of these 2 young people high on a cliff face looking out over the sea.
I can only imagine that this is the place that started this tragic train of events
Wear sturdy shoes and be careful as there is a bit of loose stones.
No place for tradables.
Boyfriend's death 'too much' Die Burger Archives 2007-12-05 08:10
A little more than a year after her boyfriend Christo van Zyl died, family and friends have said farewell to 16-year-old Riana Muller, too.
Christo had been a promising cricketer at Punt High School here and died last year when he fell 12m down a cliff while hiking on the St Blaize route with a friend.
Riana, an athlete and a Grade 10 pupil at the school, died in Bay View Hospital at 11:55 on Tuesday, after taking an overdose of painkillers on Saturday.
