This is a basic waypoint projection multi-cache. From the published coordinates you will solve a simple math problem and project to the final.

Clarksville Dam #24
Welcome to the Clarksville Lock and Dam #24. When it opened in 1940, it was the first dam on the upper Mississippi to use tainter gate verses roller gate technology. The dam incorporates 15 tainter gates in its 1,340 foot length. In addition to the operational portion of the dam there is an additional 2720 feet of earthen dike required to reach the Illinois shore. Lock and Dam 24 has well exceeded its 50-year design life. In 2004 it was listed in the National Register Of Historic Places.
If you are visiting this site in the winter you will no doubt be among many others who have come to view the bald eagles that spend their winters in the area. We invite you to share your eagle photos with Geo-nation by posting them with your log.

Now here’s what you must do to solve this DAM problem.
At the stated coordinates you will find an information sign that numerically lists various Corps installations. Use the site numbers to solve two basic math problems. The solution to problem #1 will give you the distance to the cache (in feet) while the solution to problem #2 will give you the bearing (in degrees).
PROBLEM #1-determining the distance (in feet):
Silver Lake access X 7
PLUS Swan Lake access X 5
PLUS Ellis Bay (River Lands Way)
Check sum = 17
PROBLEM #2-determining the bearing (true):
Two Rivers South access X 2
PLUS Lock and Dam 24/Clarksville Mo. Riverfront
Check sum = 9
