Traditional cache in Lotjasaari, Anttola - a short walk from the new harbour. BYOP!!
Anttolan Lotjasaaren sataman avajaisia juhlittiin 31.5.2013. Satama on nykyaikainen kotisatama noin 150 veneelle. Laituri ulottuu 160 metrin päähän rannasta ja kaikkiaan laiturimetrejä on puolen kilometrin verran. Laituri on lukittu ja vartioitu. Sataman alueelle on tulossa myös veneiden huolto- ja talvisäilytyspalveluja.
Vesistön merkitys on ollut anttolalaisille suuri myös entisaikaan - vettä pitkin kuljetettiin sekä ihmisiä että tavaraa. Anttola olikin tunnettu lotjapitäjänä - ei ainoastaan anttolalaisten omistamien lukuisten lotjien vuoksi, vaan myös anttolalaisen lotjanrakennustaidon perusteella. Vuosina 1890-1950 Anttolassa rakennettiin yli 150 lotjaa - monet niistä juuri Lotjasaaressa. Lotjilla kuljetettiin mm. halkoja ja sahatavaraa sekä käsin veistettyjä parruja, jotka matkasivat aina Egyptiin saakka.
Lotjasaaren ympärillä on järvenpohjassa useita lotjien hylkyjä. Saaren itärannan tuntumassa vuosikausia puoliupoksissa ollut lotja on Mikkelin Urheilusukeltajien toimesta siirretty syvemmille vesille ja upotettu sukeltajien iloksi. (Video).
Lotjasaaren pohjoispäähän piilotetulle kätkölle pääsee niemen kiertävää polkua pitkin. Kätköpurkki on kooltaan micro, camo sen sijaan small. Kätkössä on vain logi, joten OMA KYNÄ tarvitaan! Helpoiten saat login takaisin purkkiin, kun pistät sen ensin rullalle ja korkkiin. Jos kalliot ja sammalet ovat märkiä, kannattaa olla erityisen varoivainen.

The opening ceremony of the harbour in Lotjasaari, Anttola took place on May 31, 2013. The harbour is a modern home port for approximately 150 boats. The dock reaches 160 meters out from the shore, and overall length of the dock with its branches is half kilometer. The dock is locked and guarded. In the future there will be also maintenance services and winter-time shelters for boats available in the harbour area.
Lake has always been important for the people living in Anttola; both people and goods have been transported by waterways. Anttola was known as a "barge region" not only for large number of barges (i.e. "lotja" in Finnish) owned by the people there but also for their skills to build barges. Between 1890s and 1950s more that 150 barges were built in Anttola - many of those right there in Lotjasaari. Barges were used to transport eg. logs and sawn timber as well as handmade rafters that had their destination as far as in Egypt.
There are wrecks of barges on the lakefloor around the island. A barge that lied half-sunken near the eastern shore of the island, has been taken to deeper waters and sunken totally for divers. (Video).
The cache is hidden in the northern part of the isle, and a path going around the cape leads towards the cache. The cache itself is micro-sized but the camouflage's size is small. The cache contains only log so OWN PEN is needed! The easiest way to get the log back into the stash is to roll it and first put it into the lid. If the rocks and mosses are wet, be very careful out there.
