Geocache Description:

Finding this cache involves a bumpy car ride down to the the waypoint I have provided for parking, and then a pleasent walk through scenic woods down to a now booming river. Along the way you will see many brick ruins and possibly some wild life. Deer tracks abound, so if you are quiet your chances of an encounter will increase.

The old Hammond Road is bumpy, but open to traffic; you can park at the trailhead that runs to the river. There’s a fair amount of muggle traffic on weekends, including 4-wheelers/hikers/campers.

As a precautionary measure, the cache is not hidden in/around dilapidated buildings,
nor do you need to cross over the RR tracks.

The cache itself is well hidden a ways up the banks of the Tygart River. When I hid this cache, the river was swollen with melting snow as it rushed its icy way through the valley. Some scrambling will be required in order to reach this cache, and you will certainly have to leave the trail. The way is fairly clear, though keep in mind that I placed this in winter. If you are reading this in the spring or summer, you may have some undergrowth to contend with. Good luck!

The original contents of this cache include a trackable and some other small swag.

Bring your own pen! **EDIT** The distance from the river will vary with the seasons and precipitation. At it's normal level, the cache is well away from the river. However, it may be much closer at times, depending.
