A nice sized cache - hidden just off a main track through Roughtor woods, however this isn't about the cache it's about the Starlings - not just one or two - but up to two million who appear at dusk every evening - it's a stunning sight....
A Murmuration is the name given to a large number of starlings and here at Roughtor woods, at dusk you can see millions of starlings come into roost, it really is unbelivable how many birds are in the sky at once.
This sight can be seen from late Autumn till early spring and it's better to see them on a dry day as they'll be in the sky for much longer..
The cache contains a number of bird related swaps and we'd be grateful if it could be kept bird related - thank you. If you manage to snap any good photos of the starlings then please feel free to upload them with your cache logs.
The cache is hidden under the trees - to make it slightly easier to find - we've added a Waypoint called "Way in" which indicates where to leave the main track and head in under the trees.
The cache contains an Ark Geocoin as a FTF prize.
Cache placed in accordance with the GAGB Forestry Commission Peninsular District agreement
