Geocache Description:

A small geocaching series honoring the best of the best from our great state, North Carolina. This series honors Wilmington area geocachers, past and present. Other series coming soon around the state, as I travel much.

As a geocache lurker through the years, with only 425 finds to my credit I have found that hiding caches was far more fun than finding them. I travel all over North Carolina and find caches once in awhile but never seem to post my finds here as I should. So I have decided to hide a series of geocaches all over our state in honor of the geocachers here. I have been to events and met other cachers from the mountains to the coast and found the time spent with geocachers always very pleasant. Some of these cachers are known for their multitude of hides, some are known for their high number of finds. Others are known for bringing technology to the sport and others hide extreme geostashes. I have in no way met all if any of these geocachers but lurking behind the computer I can 'see' who loves this game. I came down here for the weekend for some R & R before the busy couple of weeks ahead and decided to set this series for the locals to enjoy.
