Muckadilla is situated 40 Km west of Roma on the Warrago Highway. In 1889, the Queensland Government put down a test water bore at Muckadilla. The supply was comparatively small but it was discovered that the water contained healing powers and tourist flocked to the town looking for cure. The bore now provides the township's water supply. The Whistle Stop is located in a park at Muckadilla. It provides information and refreshments to tourists as well as being a point of sale for local arts and crafts. The building was the original railway station at Muckadilla and has recently been relocated to this site. Public toilets and picnic tables are adjacent to the Whistle Stop.
