The Gleeson Wetlands named after Clares founding father, this is the site of the towns former effluent ponds and comprise of 3 larger ponds which take the water from the Hutt river and filter out many conatminants Picked up inthe Clare streets, before returning it to the Hutt . About 4km of predestrian pathways have been constructed throughout the Wetlands and 5500 trees planted, with a seats along the trail. the area can be accessed from Phoenix ave or from Christison ave behind Pinoneer Park. The upgrade of this area will increase recycled water by 560 million litres every year. The recycled water can be made avalible to community facilities, schools and town ovals. The wetlands were opened on the 16th November 2012. The area used for a walk bike ride and many people jogging amoungst the shady trees and people sitting taking in the views watching the Ducks playing in the pond take some bread to feed the ducks.
