Geocache Description:

(Yuma's first Challenge cache, believe it or not.)

The cache is at the listed coordinates,
but you will need to complete the challenge before you can log a find.

The challenge you must meet is simple. To log this cache, the sum of the elevations of your ten highest Arizona cache finds must be greater than 100,000 feet. Only finds count, cache placements do not. For example, here is Arizona Ranger Team's list of qualifying cache finds:

Code Cache Name   Country   State Elevation
GC9274 Heavy Bedroll United States United States Arizona 11358 ft
GC3Q782 Wrong Turn Cache United States United States Arizona 11321 ft
GCGARV B-24 Crash Site United States United States Arizona 11290 ft
GC1WE50 Baldy Challenge United States United States Arizona 11188 ft
GC85EB Escudilla Peak Cache United States United States Arizona 10872 ft
GC927D See the Inner Basin United States United States Arizona 10788 ft
GC5873 Green's Peak Cache United States United States Arizona 10116 ft
GC2XCYX Out of Breath United States United States Arizona 10086 ft
GCGX06 Heliograph Peak Lookout United States United States Arizona 10012 ft
GC5YD5X Stan ray memorial United States United States Arizona 9820 ft

The sum is 106,851 feet.

So that begs the question: "How do I determine the elevations of my cache finds to see if I qualify?" The output above is from the popular GSAK caching statistics macro, "FindStatGen3". That is the easiest and the preferred method. We cannot give you a lesson in the use of this tool, so you will have to figure out how to do this on your own, or get help from another cacher that is familiar with the tool.

There may be other methods, or manual methods, but whatever method you use, your log should either include a list of your qualifying cache finds, or point us to where we can see the info (such as your public Geocaching.com profile, for example).

Since Arizona has an ample selection of high altitude caches, all qualifying cache finds must be within the state of Arizona. A cache's elevation shall be considered as the elevation of the cache's published coordinates. So even if a puzzle or multi cache ultimately takes you to a different place, the relevant elevation is for the published coordinates.

There is no point in either 1) posting a note with your list of qualifying finds if you have not gone to the cache; or 2) going to the cache and signing in, with the hope that someday you might qualify. Please only go to the cache and log online AFTER you have qualified and are visiting to claim a righteous and qualified find!

Notes for any other purpose, such as telling us what a cool challenge this is, or that you are jazzed to accept the challenge, or whatever, are welcomed!
