Quercus quad Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Burleybee: This cache has been reported “not found” recently, I checked the site yesterday 30/3/22 and could not find the snap box cache. I have to assume that some kind person has taken the cache leaving only a plastic Friesian cow among the leaves and debris. I have therefore, reluctantly, archived this cache and apologise for the loss of this popular site

Geocache Description:

The cache is placed in a stand of oaks on open ground on the single track back road from Storiths to Barden Bridge/Appletreewick

The cache is placed in a stand of oaks on open ground on the single track back road from Storiths to Barden Bridge/Appletreewick just west of Launds House on the Bolton Abbey Estate. It can be accessed easily from the single track road where there is limited roadside parking available. It is also within easy walking access from  varied circular walks (1 to 1½ hours) from both the Cavendish Pavilion and the Strid  carparks (where refreshments are available and for which there is a charge but they are free in the winter weekdays (Monday to Friday), to the beautiful Barden Bridge or for a shorter walk, the aqueduct. The well maintained paths along the R. Wharfe are easy walking but there are a few steeper, rocky parts which are not suitable for wheel chairs. A diversion from Posforth Bridge of about half a mile will bring you to the spot. The small plastic box  at the base of a large, four branched oak, contains a few items for swapping, a log book and pencils. Initially it contained a TB 3EAX6Y, bon voyage!
