They have exactly 1 year (not a leap year) to avail themselves of these rights before they expire worthless. Geocaching.com stock currently sells for $50 a share, exhibits 25% annual volatility and does not pay any dividends. Myron and Fischer can borrow money with no risk of loss of their principle from nearby Cash for Gold for 5% per year, and, by the way, they happen to be in Europe at the time these rights are available.
