This cache is located in a lovely picnic swimming spot next to the Moruya River. It is easily accessed by road and is only about a ten minute drive out of Moruya. Please make sure it is well covered to avoid muggles. The new larger container (provided by blissbaby) has allowed us to upgrade this cache to a TB hotel - thanks again blissbaby for the generous spirit you displayed in providing this container.
As the river is tidal here it provides great swimming for all ages and levels of ability. At high tide there is a large area of quite shallow water for inexperienced swimmers to paddle in. There is also swinging ropes on the other side of the river but you must be able to swim across the channel to get there. Lots of people bring snorkels, canoes, airbeds and spend their time floating up and down the river.
The Deua River is the freshwater reaches of the Moruya River and rises out of the rugged and thickly forested ranges south of Braidwood, NSW. The Deua River runs through the Duea National Park which has many camping and swimming spots along its course. This area is not part of the National Park and does not have any facilities - please bring a bag to take your rubbish home with you. You may also consider CITO as sometimes other visitors do not respect this spectacular area. It is an alcohol free area which keeps it a family friendly spot. Dogs are also welcome but must be kept under the control of their owners.
