Geocache Description:

This cache IS at the posted coordinates.

During the past three years, we’ve enjoyed taking on and (usually) completing dozens of Challenge Caches. So, as our (evil?) New Year’s gift to you, we’ve adapted some of our favourites and incorporated them into a mega-Challenge for well rounded geocachers. Hopefully, you’ll have fun with it…even if it takes three years to complete.

Since this is a challenge cache, you must not only find the cache and sign its log but you also must complete the challenge requirements as specified below.

The Requirements

1. Accumulate at least 200 points from the list of 26 mini-Challenges found below. Except for the first, you can get a minimum of zero points and a maximum of 10 points from each mini-Challenge.

2. After you have 200 or more points, go online and log either a “Write note” (if you haven’t found this Challenge Cache’s physical cache) or a “Found it” (if you have found the cache) documenting your points. For an example of more-than-adequate documentation, see the CanadianRockies’ log of 31 Dec. 2012.

3. If you haven’t already done so, then find this Challenge Cache’s physical cache, sign its log book, and log your online “Found it.”

4. We realize it can be frustrating to spend many months completing a Challenge Cache only to discover that its physical cache recently was archived. So, you can find this Challenge Cache’s physical cache at any time, sign its log book, and log a “Write note” indicating you’ve done so. But you cannot log an online “Found it” until after you have both signed the physical log book and accumulated at least 200 points.

5. Generally accepted geocaching conventions apply. These must be bona fide caches listed on geocaching.com that you personally found and logged. Your online “Found it” dates must match the dates you actually found the caches.

The Cache

This cache is located in Kingsland Dry Pond Park. It is a small container wrapped in camouflage tape. Without the challenge requirements, the cache would have a 2-star Difficulty Rating and a 1.5-star Terrain Rating.

Kingsland Dry Pond is an athlete-oriented park. It has a soccer pitch, baseball diamond, ice hockey rink, basketball court, running track, and tobogganing hills. If you need a rest, there are benches and the shade of several tree species.

The Credits

Congratulations to One Bad Ant for being the first-to-find this challenging challenge.

This challenge is based on the 10 x 12 Challenge - The Point (GC3CX36) by ktTris and The Oblate Speroid Challenge (Ball of Confusion) (GC3V0M6) by AZcachemeister & AZgeckogirl.
