A small cache located in a little known spot on Cobh island with fantastic views of Cork harbour! Available at all times but strongly recommended on a nice sunny day.
Park at the recommended parking co-ordinates at N51 51.582 W8 13.234 (waypoint provided) and take a short walk down the nearby road track to the cache, located at N51 51.662 W8 13.562. You will be treated to fantastic views of Cork Harbour, stretching from Rostellan and Aghada in the east to the harbour mouth all the way to Cobh town in the west.
I do not recommend driving directly to the cache site.... despite what maps may say the track is potholed and quite narrow with long briars that will scratch a car to bits. I also do not recommend approaching from the west as there is no parking and nowhere simple to turn the car without tackling the long briars. Walk to the site from the provided parking!
At GZ enjoy the views but please stay on the track; do not stray onto the field. The track is a public right of way with access to various houses and is popular with walkers to Marlogue wood, but the fields are private property.
