The third cache in my sealife series. A short hike along a well defined trail.
The cache is a pill jar wrapped in camo tape, there's a logbook and a pencil. Please do your best to replace the cache were it's hidden to keep it unseen from the path, and accessible in the snow. (The original peanut butter jar was vandalized a few times, hopefully this new smaller size will work out better) The Hamilton Region Conservation Authority has waived the fee for walking and cycling visitors to the Dundas Valley Cons. Area but still requires visitors arriving by car to pay per vehicle. The Dundas Valley Conservation Area is open daily 8 a.m. to sunset, unless otherwise posted. Now about Northern Pikes: As with muskies, pike lurk in the cover of vegetation in the lake's clear, shallow, warm waters near shore. Pike consume large numbers of smaller fish, but seem willing to supplement their diet with any living creature their huge jaws can surround, including frogs, crayfish, waterfowl, rodents, and other small mammals.
