Geocache Description:

Geocache of the Week
Deep Blue Something was awarded Geocache of the Week 7/2/2015 This is Long Island's first, and so far, only geocache. It is at Dean's Blue Hole, the world's deepest marine sinkhole.

It is also one of the world's largest underwater caverns and in my opinion, the world's most beautiful. The bottom is 662 feet below the surface, so needless to say, if you can't swim, don't get in here. (Please refer to the memorial plaque with angels for more on this subject.) If on the other hand, you are a swimmer, and hopefully a snorkeler, get in and enjoy swimming with a lovely cast of happy sea creatures. Don't be started by the giant tarpon that circle in the depths. Just watch out for the territorial damselfish on the opposite side of the inlet. He can pack quite a punch for a three incher!
Please let me know what coordinates you have for the cache, as I'm not sure how accurate mine are.
To find the cache; as you walk out on the beach, look to your left. You will see a stone ledge where a path starts up the hill toward the highest cliff top above the Blue Hole. Take the trail. On your right you'll see a little side trail to a cave. Don't take that trail. Instead continue up toward the cliff top and take the next side trail to the right, toward a smaller, darker cave. The cache is outside of the cave, just to the left under a small flat rock in a mini cave at ankle level. Please replace it as you found it and leave Captain Cartwright to guard the cache. This is a great place to leave travel bugs.

Small note on cache maintenance: Local relatives live nearby and willl perform any needed maintenance in my absence.
