Patriots' Path stretches from East Hanover which connects with the Lenape Trail in Essex County to Allamuchy Mountain State Park in Sussex County and the Village of High Bridge in Hunterdon County. Any Morris County cacher worth their salt has been on Patriots Path. It is ubiquitous and traverses some of the most beautiful terrain in the county. However, there are some sections that I would bet that most cachers have never been on, nor even know that they exist.

Although this claims to be on Patriots Path, this spot is in Essex County and is also claimed as part of the Lenape Trail as the picture above shows. The parking lot at the Essex County Environmental Center has a trailhead and signage on one side for Patriots Path and the other for the Lenape Trail.
Could the Essex and Morris County sheriffs duel in this expanse to claim this land and restore honor to their county? Can E. Hanover and Roseland raise militias to fight over this incursion into Essex County sovernity? Unlikely, but it is fun to fantasize!
