Welcome to the Yellow Trail at Oak Mountain State Park. It will cost $3 per adult to play here.
The cache name came from CaverJules who gave me the special duct tape used to cammo the container. Enjoy!
The Yellow Trail, known as the Foothills Trail, is approximately 8 miles long (one way). It begins at the North Trailhead and travels at a low elevation around Lake Tranquility to end at Peavine Road close to the South Trailhead area (off Terrace Drive).
Maggie's Glen is a popular spot to hike to. It sits along a stream bank with many species of plants and trees growing there. It is a very quiet place to sit and relax. It can be accessed from the White Trail, the Yellow Trail, and the Red/Yellow connector. You could hike the Yellow Trail to Maggie's Glen cache and get White Trail Time (Number 1 - 8) to loop back to where your started. This would be a very nice hike.
The North Trailhead lot is across the paved road from here: N 33° 21.433 W 086° 42.292. If you would rather through hike, you can park and leave a car in the cabin area and pick up Yellow Trail spur here: N 33° 20.839 W 086° 43.306
You are seeking a LARGE rectangular lock and lock. (It could use some swag if you care to contribute.) Note: I had trouble with this one. Coords might be off about 20 feet; however, it should be an easy enough find. It is big!
