Geocache Description:

1st of our Ensenada caches. Hope to plant caches at all my favorite places. In 1886 this building was an army fortress, later a prison. It was right across the street from my high school (CETYS) in 1979-81. We saw 2 escape attempts, both failed. Sometimes we would even throw packs of cigarettes up to the prisoners on top level. It is now a cool museum. You can see the old prison cells, solitary and etc. And they have exhibitions, arts stuff and etc. I hope you enjoyed finding this place.

For now I am switching this to a VIRTUAL cache. So find the place, take pictures and tell the museum host that Lucas from Guadalupe sent you! Once I can secure another cache location I will let you know. So Congrats to Nordic Beast for the FTF! Like I said, it's an old prison, I have a good relationship with people that maintain it (but they don't know where the cache's hidden, so don't ask ). It's open Tuesdays to Sundays from 9am-5pm. Free admittance. There is parking on the streets. It also has clean bathrooms, always a bonus when walking around town. Cache is a small brown flat round coin holder (the kind that hold large silver coins).  It's not behind anything, so do not move around the pieces of art and etc. It's jammed between wood and cement, please put back as you found it or better. be careful of muggles. The GPS takes you to the court yard, from there you're on your own. bring your own pen.
