A forest walk in the city. Raising 900 feet above sea level. In a dense eucalyptus forest, the cache awaits.Wooden steps and a sign for quiet start your journey.
A short hike in deep woods will bring you to a small shrine carved in the side of the trail. The cache is located a few steps before the shrine.Driving up 17th Street in the Haight, close to the top you will see the wooden stairs that lead to the trail on your right.Park and take the trail upward. Right after you cross the paved road, you will see the trail continue and a sign announcing Mount Sutro. You will now be very close. Stay on the trail till the shrine and then backtrack a little.The cache is a camo small plastic Tupperware container, a few knicknacks were left inside, including a gold dollar coin. There are many other access points to this area.
