This is a challenge cache and there are certain goals to be met before you can log a find, which will get you caching all over our beautiful country, South Africa. You will first need to find at least one cache in each of the 52 Metropolitan and District Municipalities of South Africa before you can log a find.
The aim
The aim of this cache is to encourage Geocachers to visit all the Municipalities in South Africa particularly the more rural ones. The rural Municipalities have some great scenery and great caches to go with it and really deserve to be found more regularly. The challenge is to go out and find them.
Districts of South Africa
South Africa is divided into 52 districts (Metropolitan and district Municipalities). There are two types of Municipalities at district level. Most of the country is covered by the 44 District Municipalities, which are divided into local Municipalities and share responsibilities with them. The 8 largest urban agglomerations are governed by Metropolitan Municipalities, which act as both local and district Municipalities.
The Challenge
In order to be able to log this cache you will need to find and log 1 cache in each of the 52 Municipalities.
Please note: All logs will be verified.
Rules
There are a couple simple rules:
- All finds prior to the listing of this cache do count
- Generally accepted rules, guidelines and conditions for logging a cache find apply. These must be caches listed on Geocaching.com that you have personally (physically) found and logged (signed cache logbook) yourself
- Only Found logs against physical cache types count (i.e. No Events and/or Virtuals)
- No Found logs on caches that you own will be allowed.

The Final
The final cache is placed just off the Tree Dassie trail in the beautiful Umtiza indigenous forest. The difficulty rating on this cache has been elevated to a level suitable to the amount of travel and number of days it will take you to complete this challenge. The final cache location is a D2 / T2.
As an added incentive there are three Medals/TBs (Gold, Silver & Bronze) for the first three who complete the challenge and submit a qualifying bookmark or list. It will be interesting to see and who takes up the challenge and is rewarded with a medal. Medals will be awarded for the first three finds on this cache.
The Medals/TBs are not in the cache container - please contact me to collect your prize. I will hand deliver or post it where necessary.
