This is part of the Sidetracked series and I have taken up the offer of the CO of others in the series to add to it.
The cache is a non-magnetic micro situated at a model railway station which is opposite a small estate called The Sidings. Batterstown railway station opened in 1863 on the Clonsilla to Navan line. It closed to passenger traffic in 1947 and freight traffic in 1961. The line closed completely in 1963. The outline of the track can be seen on one side of The Sidings while the station can be seen from the bridge on the other side however the road here can be busy so take care. There is space for a car to park by the cache however the ground can be quite soft so it may not be suitable for wheelchairs.
