BigA800 at the cache on his 1000th consecutive day of caching and Allan with
his commerative log from the event
This cache was placed in conjunction with the 1K for BigA! event on January 5, 2013 to celebrate his 1,000th consecutive day of caching! Allan, aka BigA800, is a legend in the NJ caching community. He has bagged well over 13,000 caches in less than 5 years, a rate of just under 7 caches per day.
At the time this cache was placed, he is the #2 cacher in all of NJ. Some cynical cachers might say it is because he chased stayfloopy, IMSpider, and mblatch out of the state but anyone who has ever met Allan knows that is not true!
His streak began on April 12, 2010 and has survived many threats including two hurricanes, freak snowstorms, power outages, flooding, locusts, Challenges, and the Mayan apocalypse. His geosense is legendary, caches expose themselves during a PAF to Al even before he answers the phone! He is always welcoming to cachers new and old, is a great resource for all things caching, and is one of the nicest folks that I have met through geocaching. A special badge of honor goes to Marsha for putting up with a thousand days of this! Congrats Allan on 1,000 days of caching in a row! Time for a non-caching vacation!
FTF honors goes to BigA, of course!
