Patchwork Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

icefrog: The cache is there, but ongoing construction has it blocked. I can see the structure being built now, and it is only the skeleton on the bldg. I forsee several months more of construction, so rather than be prompted every month by the reviewer, I will just archive. I hope to hide it elsewhere, as it is a memorial cache for my mom. I will also have to figure a time to retrieve it, when no construction folks around. Thanks for all your patience, and to those who have found it.

Geocache Description:

Regular Ammo can, with a twist --->  sort of inside-out!  Plenty of parking, but use stealth, as muggles may be nearby.  Pens and trade items inside; have fun with this!

As many of you know, i love all kinds of arts and crafts - if you have done my "A is For Artist" cache (GCMXBN), you will sort of see the similarity here.  My mother was always sewing and doing needlework, and one of my favorite things to watch her do, was make a patchwork quilt - so cool to see a work of art evolve, from scraps of fabric. Here is the official description of the process:

patchwork

the process of joining strips, squares, triangles, hexagons, or othershaped pieces of fabric (also called patches), by either hand ormachine stitching, into square blocks or other units. It is one of theprimary construction techniques of quilting and is often combinedwith applique. In constructing the quilt top the pieced blocks may bestitched together, alternated with blocks cut from a single fabric, orseparated by long strips of fabric known as sashing. The blocks maybe arranged in a wide variety of settings, including rotated 90degrees "on point." Pieced or plain border strips are often added tocomplete the quilt top. In the crazy quilt the patches are of irregularsize and shape; like crazy blocks, string-pieced blocks, formed ofstrips of fabric, are sewn to a fabric or paper foundation
