It was stationed at Mobile for about a year, then was moved to Tennessee. For armament the unit had four 12 pound Napoleons. The unit fought with the Army of Tennessee from Chickamauga to Nashville. Later it was transferred back to Mobile. The battery reported 10 killed and 18 wounded at Chickamauga, had 6 killed and 9 wounded at Missionary Ridge, and 8 killed and wounded at Nashville. It was organized with 130 officers and men, and surrendered on May 4, 1865, with the same number. Captains William H. Fowler and John Phelan were its commanders.
