Geocache Description:


I placed this cache in honor of someone incredibly important in my life, Larissa “Momma Pit”, my second mother, and one of my best friends. Larissa unfortunately passed away June 26, 2012, and not a day has passed without me missing her. We spent many nights at the nearby bar (which has since reopened under a new name) enjoying each others' company during NYHC shows she helped her husband organize. I have many great memories of Larissa, and the rest of our In The Pit family in this area, and every time I pass by here, I find myself recalling old times. I decided I wanted to hide a micro dedicated to her memory near a place that, for a few years, was a weekly gathering for Momma and all her adopted children.

     The cache container is a small rectangular tin about the size of an Altoids container spray painted black. The cache holds a small log, and a few pieces of swag to start with; a frog, a mini first aid kit, some pirate coins, a blue stone, and a pencil top eraser shaped like some kind of ax blade. Small trade items only, as this cache won't be able to hold too much. Bring your own writing utensil, and use stealth as muggles may be highly present at certain times. Please be sure to hide the cache better than found.
***CACHE UPDATE 1/14/16*** Cache has been replaced with a small lock and lock container, with an assortment of loot to start. Hiding spot has been altered ever so slightly, as reflected in new hint. (Coordinates are still the same, though.) Please be certain to re-hide VERY well to help ensure that this one doesn't go missing again.

***6/11/2019 CACHE UPDATE*** After several unsuccessful attempts to replace this hide near its original location, this cache has been relocated to the opposite side of the parking lot. It is now a nano with room only for the log. Please still use stealth when making this grab. Thank you, and enjoy. Miss you, Momma!
