This cache is near a roadside rest area and service station on the Gregory Development Road near the bridge crossing the Belyando River; Charters Towers is 200km north and Clermont 180km south so is a good place to break the journey. It is also just north of the Bowen Development Road turnoff to Mount Coolon and Collinsville, the back ways to Bowen and Mackay, eventually……Somewhat remote from any other caches as well!
Since the original listing there is some mobile coverage now. The cache is best reached off an access road that starts near a caravan and truck sign and ends 270m north of the service station, you can park near the cache on the gravel next to the side road. Be careful anywhere near the main road as the sparse traffic hoots along through here.
It's a plastic screw top jar thats been painted, and placed under loose rocks. At the time of placing it contained a log and pencil, FTF can choose from an unlogged chistmas trackable, travel sticker, inflata-ball and bottle opener. FTF was Bundyrumandcoke. The new location has a replica container with some small tradeables, pencil and replacement log.
On such a long stretch of road it is important to STOP, have a break and don't go Bel'y up.
Due to some tree clearing, cache was moved 7/7/21
