This cache is a circular trail above Poggio with lovely views of the lake, ancient houses and some animals next to it. The indications guide you to the cache final and along the circular trail. The final is hidden in difficult terrain and requires some cross country climbing. The rest of the circular trail is easy to walk, but unsuitable for strollers and wheelchairs. Children under the age of 4 might have some difficulties in the last, steep part of the trail. We hope you enjoy the trail!
Leave your car next to the little street indicated by waypoint (Parking).
A:
Look out for an electrical pole and count the silver rings. The answer gives you A.
Cross the bridge over the railway and take the path to the left.
B:
Navigate to waypoint (S1).
Find something you don’t normally find in a forest. Which colour has it? Define the position of the first letter of the colour (hint: same in English, German, French and Italian) in the alphabet, following the logic of A=1, B=2, C=3 etc. Take the sum of digits of the result and you get B.
C:
Navigate to waypoint (S2).
You see three abandoned houses. Count the number of large and small windows facing Lago Maggiore. The answer gives you C. Attention: all windows can be seen from the path. Please don’t climb into the houses.
D:
Navigate to waypoint (S3).
Look for an ancient murail on the house and count the number of R on it. The result gives you D.
E:
Navigate to waypoint (S4).
There is an old direction sign. The number on the sign is E.
F:
Navigate to waypoint (S5).
Find a spiral staircase and count the number of steps. The answer gives you F.
Final:
Follow the trail and calculate the coordinates of the final cache.

E 8° 43. (D*E*(A+E)*(F+1)) – (((A+E)*F)+(C/2))
Attention: The final cache is hidden away from the main trail. You have to climb the hill to retrieve it from its hiding place. Be careful going up and especially downhill!
Finalising the circular trail:
When you have found the cache, go back to the main path and follow it to Poggio; first navigate to waypoint R1 and follow the trail. At the T-crossing, take the path to the right; waypoint R2 is to ensure that you are on the right track.
