This cache has been archived.

Southerntrekker: This cache has been disabled for some time and as the owner has not repaired/replaced it, I am archiving it.

The Geocache Maintenance guideline explains a CO's responsibility towards checking and maintaining the cache when problems are reported. Caches that have been archived for lack of maintenance will not be unarchived. This is explained in the Help Center.

Geocache Description:

Located in the Trinity Bouy Wharf area of London's Docklands, where the River Lee meets the River Thames is where you can find London's only lighthouse.

Built between 1864-1866 it was originally a testing venue for new types of lamps and lighthouse technology; Michael Faraday even carried out experiments here - there is a small "museum" nearby that pays tribute to him.

You are looking for a container - longer than a 35mm - that has magnets taped to it.   Logbook and pencil inside.

The lighthouse is now home to 'Longplayer' - A continuous 1,000 year long piece of music initially switched on for the millennium celebrations, the music will run uninterrupted until midnight on the 31st December 2999 (You may wish to check opening times on their website though.)

I thought that the Wharf was open at all times, hence initially tagged as 24/7, but it seems that it may be closed at night. Recommended therefore during the day.
