Geocache Description:

A large bison tube P&G, in a (another) fine Bozeman City Park. Probably should bring a pen or pencil as I didn't have a small enough one for the cache. Congrats to ScoobyPatrol for FTF & CrazyGmork for STF And HolyGuacamole we know you were there too!

The first flour mill in the Gallatin Valley was erected in 1864. It was opperated until 1884 by W.B. MCadow. To mill flour back in those days (Long before Wonder Bread) the wheat was passed through these stones to grind it into flour. In that time, Mill Stones were turned by waterwheels, wind as in Holland or beasts of burden such as horses, mules or burros. I'm not sure how these were turned but I would guess it was by water. Imagine your bread flour and grains coming from these stones, Would it have been a fine, white flour? Probably not.

Bring your skates if it's winter and have a nice skate around the park on the ice pond. If it's summer, have a picnic & enjoy the shade and playground. Like I said another great Bozeman City Park
