A cache in a corner of Overlee Park, Clarkston, located close to the Busby railway viaduct.
When removing or replacing the inner container, please TWIST it in/out to prevent the rubber ring coming loose. And please ensure both lids are screwed back on fully, thanks.
The farmland of the Overlee estate was divided in two by the construction of the railway in the 1860s. The southwestern section was released for housing while the northeastern half remained farmland until it was turned into Overlee Park in the 1930s, providing recreational space for the residents of the new houses in the neighbouring Stamperland housing development. Overlee Park was one of almost 500 playing fields developed in the 1930s with funds from the King George's Fields Foundation.
The viaduct carries the Glasgow - East Kilbride line over the White Cart Water as it twists noisily through the steeply wooded Busby Glen below.
Please note the cache is accessible from the path and there should be no need to climb over any fences.
Congratulations to Arthurlie for being First To Find
