Geocache Description:

Cache can be found near the Turkey Trot Trail, part of the Shelton Lakes passive recreation area. Nice hiking trail leading to the wooded area containing the hiding place.

Shelton Lakes comprises more than 450 areas preserved for such activities as hiking and fishing in the area between downtown Shelton and Huntington Center. Volunteers have designed and built a 5-km course for the high school cross country teams. Named for a large flock of wild turkeys, the trail consists of two loops. A map and description are located at the trailhead and the web site listed below. The trail is well marked and not difficult to traverse. The cache is located several meters away from the outer (long) loop.

Parking is available near the trailhead on Constitution Boulevard North (off Shelton Avenue - CT Route 108), across from the impressive new Shelton Intermediate School.

More information and a map of the Shelton trails and planned Recreation Path can be found at: http://www.borntoexplore.org/trails
