Geocache Description:

MORNING JOE: We named this cache Morning Joe after a conversation I had a few years back with my son Joseph who was 5 years old at the time. Every morning I would greet my kids by saying good morning. After a while it was shortened and I found myself greeting my youngest by saying “Morning Joe” at which his response would be “Morning”. One day while waiting at the bus stop for the bus to take him to school Joey asked me what I was going to do today because it was my day off. I told him I’m first going to get my “Morning Joe”. He replied to that by laughing and saying what do you mean? I had to explain to him that” Joe” is a slang name for coffee and that I was heading to my favorite watering hole for a cup when he got on the bus. He thought it was the funniest thing and for the longest time would laugh when I said “Morning Joe” or when he heard coffee referred to a “Joe”. Joey is now just shy of 11 years old and we placed this cache together to remember one of our more memorable discussions. The cache is located within Pocahontas State Park for two reasons, besides Joe passing by it every day to go to school I pass by it to get to my” Morning Joe”. Our family spends a lot of time having fun at this great park camping, hiking, fishing and geocaching. There are a lot of great trails to hike and bike on and this cache can be located off Christian Forest Trail. The cache has some toys and other trinkets. There is a $5.00 Wawa gift card for the FTF for your own cup of “JOE” or whatever else you like. This cache is plenty big enough for trackables, geocoins and other related items. This is our first cache that we have hidden so please let us know how well we did with the coordinates. There is parking available at the entrance to Christian Forest Trail located on Newbys Bridge Rd at Qualla Rd Coordinates: N37 24.066 W077 35.638. The Park is open from dawn to dusk and there is a parking fee that should be paid at the main gate located off Beach Rd. Help support the park that supports geocaching. Please re-hide the cache exactly as found and watch for muggles.
