8th Annual SW Michigan Chili Cook Off Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

LEEocache: Oops! This one has been lingering on the map for a little too long (like a bad case of heartburn), so time to close this one down.

Thanks to all who entered a chili in the contest this year, without you there is no "Cook Off"...just "Off". Hope to see you again next year.

Thanks to everyone who attended this event to make it worth putting on once again. Looking at the numbers we had 94 "geocaching teams" sign in for a total of 155 attendees.

Once again, I want to list this year's winners:
[blue][b]
Zeeland5 for winning the BEST OVERALL chili this year

ClimbGuy for winning the BEST PRESENTATION this year.

VJ24 for winning the HOTTEST chili this year.

Geocache Description:

Based on the successful passing of the "Chili Pepper" in 2012, your new hosts are continuing the proud Chili Cook Off tradition established by Gramza Gang, Soggy Boots Clan & Sunshine Gang

Once again gvsu4msu, Team Peterson, Ourfamluvscaching and Keenan Crew, and First Evangelical Covenant Church bring you the

8th Annual SW Michigan
Chili Cook Off

*** WE NEED CHILI COOKS ***

The only way this event will be successful is if all of you take a chance and make a pot of chili for everyone else to judge. We all have had the great privilege to try some very delicious and unique chili's and I'm sure this year will be no different.

The FIRST 10  to say they are bringing a chili will be entered into the competition.

If you don't want to make chili but still want to bring something, extra things to eat and drink are always welcome.

The event page will be updated with a list of who’s bringing what. All preparation will need to be done before hand and brought to the event in crock pots to keep it warm.

If your not into making chili, we would welcome other food items or some 2 liters of Non-alcoholic beverages for everyone to enjoy.

When making your pot of chili, PLEASE make a pot large enough to serve approx. 175-200 people***.

Serving size approx. 1/4 cup

***doing the math that is about 3 gallons (12 quarts)

Each year several people have run out early, so be sure to come prepared for a BIG crowd.
