Geocache Description:

African ground squirrels (genus Xerus) form a taxon of squirrels under the subfamilyXerinae. They are only found in Africa. There is another African ground squirrel of the genus Atlantoxerus, the Atlantoxerus getulus present in southwestern Morocco and northern Western Sahara. It is invasive in the Canary Islands since an introduction in 1971.

This cache can be found along a horse trail.  The only nearby parking is at Bernson Park.  You will not have to climb over any fences into the residential area or into the DWP area.  The trail is pretty even, but it does go uphill most of the way.  It circles around to the end of Mason, but due to construction and lack of parking, I would not try to start at that end.  Also, the construction security guard is always there!
There must be some electric wires buried here because my gps was all over the place.  I checked google maps to confirm the hides.

Congrats to w01f and indiandunes for co-FTF!!!
