From the communications office of Froedo Bagginz,Commander of the USS Dakota.....
This notification is being sent out to all Groundfleet personnel.....A Klingon transmission has been intercepted and translated in regards to the whereabouts of the re-search vessel, USS Didntfind and its crew...Preliminary reports show that the ship's stabilization swag was lost and without helm control, crossed over the neutral zone and into Klingon space...Chief Science Officer Nashuock analyzed the data(back in October) from the ion trail left behind and surmised(logically, of course) that the ship went down on the planet Rura Penthe,a Klingon penal colony...Two recon missions manned by C.S.O.Nashuock, First Lt. Sky and Commander Beagle, First Lt. Ducky and Chief Terra Firmologist Farmer have been sent out recently to assess the terrain and conditions on the planet's surface in hopes of retrieving the data needed to disable the force field and beam up the survivors......After months of planning, Groundfleet has decided to send a search party down to the planet to acquire the data...Transports will congregate near a literary archive just outside the force field's radius...From there, we will gather up our supplies(food, water, wood, etc.) and make the mile plus trek to the posted coords and set up a base camp...After securing a foothold within the force field's perimeter,personnel duties will be assigned(search party, communications officer, camp security, supply officer, fire duty,etc.)...Initial assessments indicate that this mission will take the better part of the day(hence the 5/5 rating), so plan accordingly for teamwork on all fronts will be a necessity...I do not expect everyone to be assigned to the search party but lets face it...someone has to wear the "red shirt"...With only 9+ hours of daylight, I will be arriving at 0700 hours(give or take an FTF or two) to start the preparation for this undertaking but from that point on...I just can't say.....updates will be made periodically as to the status of this mission(weather, supplies, weather, terrain, weather).....Also, a third recon mission will be sent out 1 week prior to determine if this mission will still be feasible...some food items, firewood, a deck of cards and several toboggans have already been issued...please reference in your will attend log any additional items(cookies, food, water,more toboggans,more cookies) that you will provide to make this mission a success...no further information is available at this time...till then...Good luck and Godspeed.............................
