Geocache Description:

Pirates Trail 50.
Did the earth move for you too.

19.20 on the 9th of January 2013 as I sat watching the telly with Lady Wild Goose and the Aegean Pirates the house shook the settee wobbled and a low grumbling sound could be heard.

A disappointed Goosey was to soon learn that it was the first and strongest of 6 earthquakes to happen in the area of Köyceğiz in Muğla province that evening. After plotting the co-ords on Google Earth to locate the epicentre we set off next day to see if it would be possible to place a cache right above the heart of the quake because it would be the closest thing to a Mega Event that would ever happen in this part of the world, as it turned out when we reached GZ there was a very obvious place to stick a cache.

Epicentre coordinates for the quake were 36.9842 28.6493.

Small note on cache maintenance: Any maintenance will be done by The Aegean Pirates who live a few kms from this cache.
