Geocache Description:

I have passed this stretch of highway hundreds, perhaps thousands, of times over the years. Each time I drive southbound I make note of the truffula tree atop the hill to the left (east), or the “Lorax Tree” as I call it. From GZ, if you look between the eucalyptus trees to the southeast on the hilltop, you’ll see the tree.

Of course, the story of preserving trees is particularly relevant on this stretch of road. These same majestic eucalyptus trees have very shallow root structures and can fall down in a good storm. One of them actually landed on a moving car not long ago. This only renewed the fight between local tree lovers and those wanting to protect public safety.

I suspect the trees also will have some effect on your gpsr too. I took the average of several readings.

PLEASE be careful as cars go by here VERY fast. Please leave the kids in the car for this one. There is plenty of space to pull over, but it is best retrieved while driving south. You’re looking for a camouflaged, magnetic micro. PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN RETRIEVING AND REPLACING THE CACHE.
