Defend the Dome Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

zanna: Sorry to have to let this special cache go, but ongoing construction at GZ has all but leveled the caching field. With Matt Ryan leaving for a new home, this feels meant to be.

Thanks to all who hunted.

Geocache Description:

Ever since my husband and I first got together, we've big-time football fans. In the first game we watched together, the Falcons scored on Matt Ryan's first ever NFL pass. Now it's your turn to score a cache here where it all began.

The Georgia Dome opened in 1992 and since then has been the home of the NFL's Atlanta Falcons. The team drafted Matt Ryan in 2008 and they have won over 85% of their games here at the Dome with him at starting QB. In addition to the NFL, the Dome also hosts the SEC Championship Game, March Madness tournament games, and Georgia State Panthers football. The Georgia Dome is one of three facilities operated by the Georgia World Congress Center Authority within a 21-acre area in downtown Atlanta.

Matt Ryan's job is to lead the Falcons, today our job is to lead you to the cache Matt Ryan holds. We hope you enjoy this cache, whether you're a Falcons fan or not. Many other things go on at the Dome that might bring you to the area, and we understand that not everyone is a football fan, but today you are an honorary Dirty Bird!

Please please watch out for muggles, be gentle with the cache, and replace as found. We already had to perform triage on the container once just placing it! You will most likely need a tool to help retrieve the log. If you cannot get the log out please do not risk damaging the container just to sign. E-mail us with a detailed description of the cache and its location and you can count it as a find. BYOP.
