Geocache Description:

The ‘Wandering Heroes’ series is a community series dedicated to the men, women and children of caching and a chance to learn more about the names you see on logs. Once you have finished the series, feel free to add a well thought out cache in the spirit of the series, dedicated to another Wandering Hero.

This cache is dedicated to Huell Howser. As many have probably heard about the sad news that California has lost a California Icon, Huell Hoswer. Many of us grew up watching California's Gold or Visiting to name a few. Huell has visited many places in California telling the stories of many everyday Californians with places many of us knew nothing about for PBS public television for the last twenty years. Huell has hosted countless number of series for PBS television.

Huell Burnley Howser was born October 18, 1945, in Gallatin, Tennessee we lost Huell Howser on January 6th, 2013 at the age of 67, at his Palm Springs home, after retiring late last year from PBS. We will miss his charm, infectious upbeat spirit, passion, and his love to meet people. Also missed will be his classic comments to his cameraman Louie: "Louie, take a look at this", "get a shot of that Louie", "Amazing!"

So how fitting is it to honor Huell Howser on our Wandering Heroes Series. You are going to be missed but your legacy lives on forever........

Thanks to Damian, aka demolineux, Alan Victor's son from Australia, for bringing the idea of this series to the High Desert. Taken from the Aussie Wandering Heroes in South Australia, example: GC31NNV. Again, please feel free to continue this series with your tribute to a fellow cacher or cachers.
