[ITA] Villa Barbaro a Maser è una villa veneta, costruita da Andrea Palladio tra il 1554 e il 1560 per l'umanista Daniele Barbaro e per suo fratello Marcantonio Barbaro, ambasciatore della Repubblica di Venezia, trasformando il vecchio palazzo medievale di proprietà della famiglia in una splendida abitazione di campagna consona allo studio delle arti e alla contemplazione intellettuale. E' decorata con un ciclo di affreschi che rappresenta uno dei capolavori di Paolo Veronese.
Il complesso della villa, che comprende anche un tempietto palladiano, è stato inserito dall'UNESCO nel 1996 - assieme alle altre ville palladiane del Veneto - nella lista dei patrimoni dell'umanità.
[ENG] Villa Barbaro in Maser is a Venetian villa, built by Andrea Palladio between 1554 and 1560 for the humanist Daniele Barbaro and his brother Marcantonio Barbaro, Ambassador of the Republic of Venice, transforming the old medieval palace owned by the family in a beautiful country house suited to the study of the arts and intellectual contemplation. It is decorated with a cycle of frescoes representing one of the masterpieces of Paolo Veronese.
The villa complex, which also includes a Palladian temple, has been included by UNESCO in 1996 - along with other Palladian Villas of the Veneto - in the list of World Cultural Heritage.
