I began playing organized travel hockey at age 6 and through the years I have played in hockey rinks throughout the Midwest and Canada. The location of the first stage of this cache is at one of the best outdoor rinks that I have played on when conditions were favorable for natural ice, without any cooling coils beneath the ice. Naturally, due to the love of the game, I have taken my son to this rink to do some skating and teach him a bit about hockey. As he has grown, so have his skills. One day recently, he was showing off his slapshot and said, "Check out my slapshot. I am going to shoot it as hard as I can!" The puck left his stick like a rocket and the last time I saw it was when it deflected off the top post of the goal. I said, "That was quite a shot but I think that puck is gone!" We tried to find the puck later but the puck had landed far from the rink and in the snow. Later that Spring, while hiking nearby, we found his puck and could not believe where we found it. Can you find his puck too?
This cache is located at Lindenhurst Park District's Engle Memorial Park. Park is open sunrise to sunset. Watch out for muggles at the rink, basketball courts, skate park, and on the paved trail. Bring your own writing utensil.
