There are many stories about King Arthur and whether he will return, some say he is sleeping in a cave waiting for the day he is needed again, others think he was killed in battle at Avalon. There is a third school of thought that says King Arthur turned into a Raven. So, can you find out if King Arthur has returned? This cache has been placed close to Arthur Seat on a short circular walk.
Little information is available about the history of Arthur Seat but it is thought to have connections to the Battle of Arderydd in 573 AD, fought near the modern day Arthuret just north of Carlisle. If you want to find out a little more about Arthuret and its history, why not have a go at GC3A07X. We recommend you take the anticlockwise route to the cache to take in the views to the south. You can then continue round the wood after finding the cache to complete the walk. You'll probably need wellies for the final part once you leave the trail. Please be gentle and don't move the cache.
