This is the 9th cache in a series celebrating & acknowledging the Riley County Rural Volunteer Firemen/women & stations. There are 16 stations in rural Riley County. These stations are manned by about 170 local volunteers & house 2-3 fire trucks. The volunteers are on call 24 hours a day & respond to brush & structure fires, as well as, car accidents & other emergency calls as needed.
In 2012, they responded to over 400 calls. Each station holds monthly trainings, and each firefighter must complete annual mandated training hours. Looking for a pill vial.
