Ulee's Gold was released in 1997, it was written by and directed by Victor Nunez. It starred Peter Fonda, Patricia Richardson, Christine Dunford, Tom Ward, Jessica Biel and Vanessa Zima. It was filmed on location in Wewahitchka, Apalachicola and Port St. Joe Florida. It is about a beekeeper who is raising his granddaughters because his son is in prison and his daughter-in-law is a drug addict. Eventually the family resolves their problems, but not without a run in with his son's former cohorts.
